A small island of the Saronic Gulf, Poros is a relaxing place to be. It is only an hour ferry ride from Piraeus, the port of Athens. The island is a popular weekend destination in summer. The charming little Town, is constructed on the slopes of a hill, and is the center of most activities on the island.
From Drepani waterski resort, you can easily reach Poros within less than half an hour: Take a taxi to Galatas, then take the small boat from the taxi station. The boat costs one Euro, and takes a few minutes only. It is a fun and charming experience.
We got off the boat, walked left and strolled along the port, for a delicious ice cream. It is no exaggeration that in Poros you can find some of the best ice cream there is.
After the ice cream, we headed up the hill, in search for the top of the Island, which we found indeed!
